NE8 Soon To be 10 Milliseconds from the USA!NE1 Internet (Newcastle ONE Leisure Limited) are happy to announce that NE8 will soon only be 10 milliseconds or less from the USA and beyond! NE1 have now signed letters of intent with one of the largest IP network providers in the world, bring the USA and beyond to within 10 milliseconds of NE8, Global Crossing recently acquired Level 3, another large player in the IP Transit market to build the biggest and fastest network around. Global Crossing are also the market leader in IPv6 technology, helping NE1 to become one of the first data centre’s in the North East to provide IPv6 services as standard. The connection is to be installed at the Gateshead based Data Centre, along with a second connection being installed in the G-Ti Network’s Meet Me point. The G-Ti network also has a direct connection to NE1’s NE8 Data Centre. Resilience is being provided by bringing the final leg of a second connection over the G-Ti network which is delivered by Gateshead Council and Alcatel-Lucent the network allows businesses in Gateshead to operate at a super speed of up to 10 Gigabits per second of bandwidth with a capability of delivering speeds in the region of 40 Gigabits per second to meet future demand. The deal will bring the heart of the internet directly into the NE8 postcode area, giving local businesses the opportunity to trade globally at speeds that were previously unavailable, ideal for software developers and other creative businesses that would like to sell their services online or provide ‘cloud based’ solutions. The NE1 Data Centre currently offers Web Hosting, Co Location, Dedicated Servers, Rack Space and Internet Connectivity and is offering a free trial to qualifying businesses.
