Broadband, Dialup and Leased Line Internet Access

The following terms and conditions apply to the NE1 Broadband Service:

1. Fees

1.1 NE1 may charge a connection fee in the amount of £50 plus VAT.

1.2 NE1 may charge a migration charge in the amount of £40 plus VAT. You may choose to pay for the provision of the Broadband Services on a monthly or annual payment plan.

1.3 All customers may choose to pay monthly or annually.

2. Contract Duration

2.1 If You are new to Broadband and are signing up for the first time, Your minimum contract term is one month from when Your line is first activated.

2.2 If You migrate to NE1 from another Broadband supplier Your minimum contract term is three months from when Your line is first activated.

3. Cancellations & refunds

3.1 If broadband activation on Your line fails for any reason outside Your control NE1 will refund the connection fee and any fees charged for the broadband Service.

3.2 If You cancel Your ADSL before the activation date. NE1 reserves the right to charge You for Your:

3.2.1 Connection/migration fee.

3.2.2 1st month's rental.

3.3 You may cancel Your ADSL subscription after completing the minimum term of Your contract as set out in clause 2 above. You must give NE1 no less than 30 days' notice to cancel the Services. You must pay any relevant fees up to the end of that 30 day notice period.

3.4 If You chose to pay NE1 annually in advance, the same cancellation terms in clause 3.3 apply .We will refund to You pro rata the balance of fees for the remaining contract period after the termination date.

4. Indemnity

4.1 The Service provides You with access to the internet. You accept that You use the internet at Your own risk and subject to any applicable laws. NE1 has no responsibility for any goods, services, information, software or other materials You may use or purchase over the internet connection provided.

5. Installation

5.1 The Service will be installed at Your local exchange by a BT, or other qualified engineer, on the date requested during the sign up process. The engineer will not need to visit Your premises. A line test will be carried out to ensure the Service can be provided at Your premises. During installation You may lose Your telephone connection for up to two hours. NE1 will use reasonable skill and care in delivering the Service on the date agreed, but are not liable for any failure to meet any deadline.

6. Line Testing Failure

6.1 If during line testing and installation NE1 is unable to deliver the Service, NE1 will inform You as soon as possible. Your original line will be restored, and You will be offered either a full refund or an alternative Service. If NE1 are unable to activate the Service due to Your act or omission, or due to incorrect information being provided when you signup, NE1 reserves the right to charge You a failed connection fee of £30 plus VAT.

6.2 You are responsible for ensuring You have an existing BT telephone line, and the correct equipment is installed and working at Your home or premises. This includes a line filter, ADSL modem and computer. You must ensure that any equipment attached to the broadband Service is technically compatible with that Service, and does not breach relevant legislation or telecommunications industry standards.

Please note: by signing up for any of NE1 Services You agree to be bound by all NE1 terms and conditions.
