Our latest was an expedition to Everest. Read more below.
April 2011 saw intrepid IT Professional Ray Smith attempt a climb on Everest, NE1 were lucky enough to be following him every step of the way via 3G and GPRS.
In May next year Ray is off to Alaska to climb Mt Denali via the West Buttress route with his friend Steve Berry.
Denali is the highest mountain in the North Americas at 6194 Metres it’s not one of the highest in the world but being so close to the Arctic circle the conditions can be worse than on Everest.
Steve and Ray will be climbing alone without any support or guide, having to carry all the equipment and supplies we need on their backs or by sledges. They are planning on being away for 4 weeks and if conditions are favourable and they summit quickly enough they then plan to attempt to climb Mt Foraker via the Sultana ridge route.
Denali is their main aim but after summiting they should be acclimatised enough to try a fast accent of Foraker and as they are already out there they may as well make the most of it.

NE1 Data Centres are currently experiencing issues with our
Telephone Support Line.
The issue is being caused by an overwhelming amount of calls
being directed to us after the NHS mistakenly published our
number as providing "Sexual Health Advice".
We are currently discussing with the NHS the best way to
overcome this issue. | | |
